Family Fun Weekend

Aug 12 -17th was the Franklin County Fair here in Preston. One of our friends is on the Fair Entertainment Committee and we were able to get Caleb and his friend Kasten a spot to preform Friday night while the Band took a break. They have been working hard to perfect their skills of juggling and Fire Poi. Kasten has LED light juggling balls that look so cool in the dark, and Caleb has Pod Poi, also with LED lights, that are pretty awesome. Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Amber, cousins Lily and Abbey, and friend Jada came down for the event. Unfortunately, I did not get pictures. But here are some pictures of the cousins when they were on stage with the band.

Here we have Lily, Hanna, Becca, Andrew and I think Abbey and friend Jada. They were rather excited to get to go up with the band. (Although Andrew was not quite sure what was going on.)
Saturday morning, Mom, Ambur, and I loaded up with the children (Hanna, Lily, Becca, Abbey, Jada, Andrew and Elizabeth) and went to Logan, Utah to meet Aunt Marci and the cousins at the park. We were very excited to see Baby Logan. He is such a cutie! And the rest of the children have grown so much since we have seen them last.

This Krista is such a cutie. We really enjoyed hanging out at the park and playing together.

Logan is the sweetest baby. So calm, and not at all fussy. He is just adorable with his red hair and sweet personality.

It was a long walk to the bathroom.

The pond and the ducks were a big attraction, of course.

A fun Reflection

What a Happy Bunch!
Andrew, who was helping a brother-in-law install a sprinkler system was able to join us for a picnic lunch.
These two cousins warmed right up to each other, and had way too much fun together. They are both all boy, and they got along great!
I just love these grins!
We had so much fun at the park, we just weren't ready to quite, but we needed to get back to Preston for the Talent Show that Caleb and Kasten were competing in, so we loaded up the cousins (Emma, Jessica, Krista, and Zack) and took them back with us, leaving Marci to run errands and Uncle Andrew to work on the sprinkler system.
Kasten Moser with fire poi.
It wasn't nearly as cool in the daylight as it is to watch the fire poi in the dark, but we were proud of the boys for trying out and competing. They placed in the top ten out of 30 contestants in the tryouts. The top ten then competed at the fair for top prize money of $100. They didn't win, but still did a great job.

Their favorite part of the competition was the fact that they had their own area marked out with Caution tape to perform in. (The wooden stage was not an option with the fire, so they performed beside the pavilion instead.)

And of course the loving, cheering family. (Looks like the lens got a smudge on it. sorry)
Emma, Jada, Lily, Hanna, Andrew, Zack, Amiane, and Daniel

Afterwards we headed home for some home made ice cream, always a treat! Then half the company left as The Grandparents, Ambur, Ryan, Lily, Abbey and Jada headed for home. That left Emma, Jessica, Krista, and Zack with us to play a little longer.

For some reason this picture won't load right, but I loved how Andrew captured his shadow as he took a picture of Zack.

Zack has the most infectious grin. It is a joy to be around him. But he keeps you on your toes. This is one busy little guy. He found a water can and was watering the chickens (same way as the flowers, on their heads) so we had to re-direct and water the garden instead!
Jessica was another great garden helper.

Caleb was already at the fair helping with one of the rides (and earning a little date money), so after the watering I took Joseph, Hanna, Emma, Jessica, Becca, and Krista back to the fair to see the exhibits and check out the rides and fair food.

Hanna, Emma, Becca and Joseph chose the rock climbing wall. Jessica, Becca, and Krista enjoyed the bounce house. Later in the evening Caleb and Joseph joined friend Kasten at the Bull Banaza. One of the entertaining events was the Cash Calf. A bunch of $1 bills were stuck to a calf which was turned loose and the children chased it around the arena. Whatever cash they could grab they could keep. Joseph said it was pretty funny to watch. The mutton busting with the little riders was pretty entertaining as well.

After enjoying the rides and food, I drove the cousins back to Logan to meet up with Drew and Marci. All in all, it was a fun weekend. We really enjoyed seeing the family, the fun, and of course, good food.
