Willow Park Zoo

Daniel and I lived in Logan, Utah, while Daniel was going to school 20 years ago. After Makala was born, we often took her to the small zoo (admission was by donation) at Willow Park Zoo. When we moved to Preston in 2006 we enjoyed taking the children to Logan and to the Willow Park Zoo. We hadn't been in quite while, so we headed there this last Monday with Makala and Jake. It was a fun walk down memory lane, and checking out the improvements and changes that have been made.
Elizabeth has gotten quite blonde this summer. You can tell being outside is her favorite place to be, all day every day, if she can get away with it. Much like all the rest of our children have been!
It was fun to see the ducks and turtles.

Little Miss Independent decided that pushing the stroller was more fun than riding in the stroller.
Bird's eye view with a pelican.

Sand Hill Crane

The Emu's were quite fun to watch.
The swans were very beautiful to watch. So graceful.
The best part of this little zoo is feeding the ducks. They have a fish food dispenser, and for a dime you get a handful of fish pellets to throw to the ducks. There are large trout that surface and grab their share as well.
A European Swan. It had a funny call.
Watch out, those ripples are where the fish came up for their share.
I don't remember what this one was called, but check out its feet! They are camoflauge! They matched the leaves!

Here is a close up.
And one more shot of what they looked like.

This is a fairly small tortoise compared to what he can grow to be!
 And the wild Baker Bunch.

  1. Glad you got to stop by the zoo too. We enjoyed going there when visiting and buying the pellets to feed the gold fish. I don't think they had trout in there when we went.

They didn't have the zoo when we were attending college there, but it is nice that they added it for the kids now. Zoos are fun.
