We went to Diamond D Diary to get a tour of the facilities and learn a little about Diarying. When we arrived one of the cows in the close pen was in labor, so the first thing we were able to see was a calf being born. So Amazing. Hanna described it as 'kind of gross, kind of interesting".
Here is the calf after it has been cleaned up and started walking. He is about an hour old.

There was an Ag class from Casper, Wyoming there for a tour as well. They asked lots of good questions, and provided Timmy with some entertainment as well.

Becca really wanted to pet a cow; so did Hanna and Andrew, but those cows just wouldn't cooperate!
We got samples of the best chocolate milk you have ever had. We also tried their yogurt drink, which was quite yummy. We saw the cows being milked, and with 475 head, it takes 7 hours to rotate them through. We also saw the processing, and the milk being put into bottles. The children that it was pretty cool.

I would like to visit a dairy farm sometime. I think Hanna's description of labor is quite accurate. :)
