First Week of School

We survived the first week of school! Hanna is in second grade, and very excited to have Ms. Mason. She knows most of the children in her class and is looking forward to a good year.

Caleb and Joseph are very excited to be home schooling this year. We have friends who are home schooling too, with boys just their ages that we are planning to do additional activities with. It is going to be lots of fun!
(Excuse the smirks and blank looks. Making funny faces when mom takes a picture is one of their favorite hobbies. This was the best of the lot.)

Makala is a Sophomore and moves from the Freshman Center to one of the High Schools (Blue Springs South High) which includes Sophomores to Seniors.

Rebecca still loves to play dress up, and since she isn't old enough to go to school she makes up all sorts of stories about her going to school. If people ask if she goes to kindergarten yet, she tells them she is home schooled.
She is very sociable and loves her Sunday school class. We will have to plan some play dates for her now that there are so many boys at home.

One of the best parts of going back to school is getting new school clothes. (That is after all the hectic shopping is donethat is!) Here are a few shots of some of their new clothes.

We hope everyone has a great school year!

  1. The sophomore year was my favorite year of high school, and it was my favorite grade to teach as well -- the juniors coming in a close second. Makala will have a great year! Isabelle starts 2nd grade later this week. Maybe she can compare notes with Hanna in a few weeks.
