Elizabeth

Elizabeth is getting to be such a big girl. She is now Two years and five months old. She loves being outside, adores the neighbor's kittens, plays with her baby doll, sings and dances, and has enough Attitude for several little girls. She definitely keeps us on our toes.

This is Lizzy's chicken. It is an Americauna (the kind that lays blue/green eggs). It kept flying over the fence to lay her eggs in the front flower bed, so we would have to catch her and put her back in several times a day. She wouldn't stay in until she layed her egg, then would stay in the pen for the rest of the day. It took us awhile to realize why she kept getting out, but we finally find a pile of eggs in the flower bed. I started calling her Persistance since she was so determined to keep getting out. She has finally switched to laying her eggs in the back like she is suppose to, but Lizzy became an expert in catching her. Now Lizzy goes and catches "her chicken" when ever she wants to.
We tried very hard to get "nice" chickens and I would have to say we did a pretty good job of it. It amazes me that the chicken lets Lizzy hold her and pack her around.

All in all, Elizabeth is quite a character. She is looking forward to being a big sister and welcoming her new baby sister in March.
