Park Tour
This past week in Blue Springs it was "Family Week". Local business had sales, drawings for prizes, and free activities to encourage families to spend time together. One of the activities was a Park Scavenger Hunt with two winners to be drawn for a $75 cash prize. The object was to visit 8 different parks and answer a question or two about each one. So we decided to see how many of these parks we could find and visit in one evening. We visited 7 parks in an hour and a half! Some were just a drive by (if we could find the answer to the question whithout getting out of the van that was a bonus!), and others we had to run around a bit looking for the anwer. We played on 4 different playgrounds, found 2-3 skate parks, several tennis courts, baseball fields and even a BMX bike track at one of the parks. This was on Wednesday. We ran out of time at the last park and had to leave before we got the aswer, so Thursday we packed a picnic, picked Daniel up from work, and went to the last 2 parks. Then we rounded out the evening by running out to the ponds in Lee's Summit's and fished until dark. So which was our favorite park? The one behind our house! It has the creek, (which is a major attraction), as well as the playground, and tennis and basketball courts, a walking path, and horse shoe pits!

Very cool. It makes me think of the duck pond in Ogden, where we would walk around the pond and feed the ducks.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. It's so bizarre to see all your cute kids. It feels like yesterday that I was the little kid at the Quigley reunion, and Makala was a tiny baby! I don't know why, but seeing her so grown up just strikes me as impossible. I guess that means I'm getting old too. :) She is so beautiful...all of them are!! I'm excited to keep better tabs on you guys!

What fun exciting adventures for the kids. Grant had to go around McCook and find all the answers to a 20 or so questionaire that he was doing for his math class. Since it was the semester that we had arrived here I believe, it was a real challenge to find the places since the places were told by clues, not directly. Then at the end if you got to the right place, I think he got an ice cream certificate or something like that.
